mooreCONGRATULATIONS to Ms. Jenna Moore of Youngstown, Ohio – winner of the 2007 Children’s Rights Council (CRC) Academic Scholarship in honor of Frank W. Banner III.

A member of the Ursuline High School Honor Roll all four years, Ms. Moore was admitted to the National Honor Society in her Junior and Senior years, maintaining a cumulative 3.7 GPA.  In concert with her educational achievements, Jenna also served in leadership roles as Class Secretary and Class Treasurer of the Student Council. She actively supported her school as a contributing member through numerous extracurricular organizations and sports activities including Students of Stewardship, People for Peace, Science Club, theater/drama, and Varsity Bowling and Tennis.

In her leisure hours, Jenna consistently involved herself in ways to communicate awareness, improve the common social good, and serve as a positive example for other youth in her neighborhood.  When her studies permitted, she readily volunteered her time and efforts to such community and faith-based organizations as the YMCA Leadership Program, Angels for Animals, St. Theresa’s Parish, and the Children’s Rights Council.

It is therefore with great pleasure CRC is able to recognize Jenna’s commitment to academic excellence and dedicated service to her community.  We look forward with great anticipation to Jenna’s continued success, and are proud to assist with this award, as she advances her educational pursuits at the Ohio University, E.W. Scripps School for Journalism.
