Highlights of Accomplishments - 1992

• Changed the organizational name to “Children’s Rights Council” to promote the objective that children should come first.
• CRC helps promote enactment of new “kinship care” law which makes it easier for grandparents and other family relations to provide for children when the parents delegate such authority, or are unable to perform a parenting role.
• Congress follows CRC lead to celebrate the second Sunday in October by passing four resolutions asking Americans to observe “Children’s Day”.
• Grandparents United for Children’s Rights, a nationally prominent organization dedicated to grandparenting and children, affiliated with CRC.
